The scent of

crushed garlic

rubbed oregano

and grated lemon peel.

Quiet time spent

washing the chicken

and patting it dry.

Squeezing lemon halves

over my fingers.

A side dish of simple

small red potatoes.

Washing the fragrant dirt

from their skins.

I think of the happy

faces eating this dinner.

My meditation time

in a Greek scented kitchen

was much needed

in my soul today.
