I've been very interested in the things that author Graham Hancock has to say. I stumbled upon a YouTube video called Thoth's Prophecy. In it, he reads from the Hermetic texts. Egypt stands as a metaphor in this part of the text. Hermes says to Asclepias that "in the future, men will be weary of life, they will no longer love the world around them that God built, nor the universe that they used to see awe in. The pious will be thought insane, and the wicked seen as good. People's behavior manifests this horror", and it says that "man is the author of this tragedy". The text goes on to say that we "are a species of amnesia, because we are so a mystery to ourselves. We are haunted that there is something missing".
When Graham asks Shamans, and Holy men what THEY think has gone wrong in the world, (or in the west), they say it is because we've severed our connection with Spirit. We've cut the link, and we must restore it to move forward.
At the end of the video these words come up on screen....
"Every soul is like a raindrop that falls from the sky into one vast ocean of consciousness. Most raindrops hit the surface and make a small ripple that fades away....but some ripples become waves!"
That last bit really hit home to me. May of 2019, I found the reason for my life at this moment in time. I felt it to the core of my being. It was the answer I needed as to what I can do in this life that matters. It's how I want to help people, and in turn, it will help the earth, and heal what is wounded. It is Shinrin Yoku, it is also bringing my writing to you my readers. This video inspired a poem. That poem follows below. It gives me such happiness inside to read it, and to embrace the world.
***********************************************************
My ripple will become a wave!
I don't have amnesia, I am an old soul
sent from the stars with a heart
so big, it can encompass the world.
It hurts sometimes, but I am strong.
Strong enough to make that wave
a tsunami of love.
